Counterfeit brand names are so hard to spot now a day even when you get to inspect the item in person. I would suggest you buy only from dept stores or from people you trust.

I saw some fake Lacoste in Europe, it said Less Cost on the tag.

if they post items on picasa or flkr, and make you contact them through email. Most likely the picasa site belongs to a fake-clothing company in Hongkong who make their money through local sellers such as the person who showed you that item... i have many friends who have contacts with companies like this in China and sells the imports in North America.

I talked to the distributor, she said there 100% Real and swears. But The price she's offering me to sell them is ungodly cheap.

And of course. wait, you are planning to do resale for them? If these are fake, you could go to jail for it. My high school classmate went to jail for 3 years for selling fake handbags... along with his gf. He was caught with over $1.4 millions worth of goods.

Really? I don't know how to find out for sure though?? Fakes are so good now a days. I remember that Real Burberry polos say "Made in London" and her s say that...But they just can't be real....If they are I could make A LOT of money...Just sounds to good to be true!!

that burberry looks legit but yea the one you get might not

I've been known to prowl around the knock off circle in Asia quite a bit...for my friend and let me tell you something. Some knock offs are impossible to tell even to company experts because they are actually real...well depends on how you look at it. There are different grades of knock-offs and the prices vary. Let me give you some examples.

There are always the low end knock offs like LaCost and Gucii with wrong patterens and symbols. Well these technically can't be considered knock offs since they changed everything, I like to call them imitators.

Then there are really cheap ones that were made in back yard shops that a third grader can tell is fake. My friend bought 1 of these (a leather gucci wallet) that was made with plastic and the glue on the bottom came undone in 4 days.

Then there are high grade back yard shop knock offs that were done a little better with real leather and stitching (in wallets) and the market is for people that know they are buying a knock-off and figure at least its a real leather wallet and people might not be able to tell in a flash.

Here is where the non initiated think the knock off list stops but no, no no. This is where the shit starts.

There are Grade A, AA and Twin grade.

Say LaCoste orders an order of 10,000 shirts from a factory in Vietnam. The factory will make more than 10,000 because they have to account for defective ones. So they make say 11,000 (10% more) now they go thru the QC and find 300 defective ones. so they take these out and ship 10,000 perfect shirts to LaCoste. Now the factory has 300 defective and 700 perfectly fine LaCoste shirts as surplus. Legally they are suppose to destroy these. But shady employees or factory owners will often off load these into the black market.

The defective ones (300) are now known as Grade A, they are technically real, but with some defects. These defects are usually really really minor such as slightly crooked logo, 1 single small stitch jump, the inside of the shirt has a dye problem, etc.

The perfect ones (700) are now known as Grade Twin, they are identical to real ones and no1 can tell they are not real if they don't come with a serial number like watches do. These are the most expansive and most of the time they are passed off as real ones.

Some companies will recall all surplus from factories and destroy them themselves. This is when Grade AA comes in. The factory will have no surplus products left, but most times they will have the exact blue print, design, left over fabric, and the machines are set up already to exactly duplicate. They will then duplicate and make knock offs that are almost identical to real ones. The only time there will be slight variation is when they try to shave cost by stitching differently. These are the most common form of high end knock off that flow into the US and Europe. And this is also the reason why sometimes knock offs appear on the market before the real thing does. Because the factory will already have duplicated the product and released it in local markets before the shipment of real ones even get off the boat in North America.

Disclaimer, I do not sell, buy, nor condone the practice of knock off. I merely have knowledge of these things that im passing to you. Don't get on my ass about exact numbers as they are simply a simplified mathematical demonstration. you can also call bullshit because I really don't give a shit, take what I say with a grain of salt its the interweb.
