Hanging a cabinet...

So I have a problem. The wife and I bought a overjohn cabinet that matches our vanity. Problem is the studs behind the toilet are so off center of the toilet that there is no way I can hit both studs to hang the cabinet center over the toilet. I could hang the cab and let it be off center but the cab was also $600 and that looks shitty anyways.

Right now I was thinking I have 2 options(unless someone has a better idea).

1. Cut into the drywall and get 2 cross beams installed (upper and lower) between the studs. I have my contractor coming in next month to do work in my family room so I could get a cost associated with this. Although I already spent $600 on the cab and that was already a little more then I would have liked to spend on something that is just going to house TP, washcloths, handtowels and some general toiletries.

2. Now I was thinking this. It may be crazy. The one stud is about 3'' to the left off center of the toilet. I COULD just screw the shit out of the cab into the 1 stud. Like instead of the typical 2 screws upper and lower into the stud on each side of the cab, I could do a row of 8 3'' screws or so right down the near middle of the cabinet with a few just going into the drywall on the other side just for good caution?

Option 2 may be a long shot. The cab maybe weighs 20-25lbs. and with the items I said above might max out around 35-40lbs. when loaded. I just thought that by putting 8 3'' screws in the stud there should be no way of this thing coming down.

What do you guys think?

I'd go with option 1.

OPTION 1 is safest bet

OPTION 2 is doable but get plastic anchors instead of just screwing straight into drywall.

If you get the big pplastic screw type anchors, you will be fine. I hung a 100 lb mirror using just four of them, and its rock solid.

I'd go with option 1, but it would be easy enough to do yourself.

depending on how off centered it is, I would suggesting getting a sheet of plywood and screwing that into the studs securely. Then screw the cabinet into this plywood but center it to the toilet.

kind of hard to explain... I can draw it out if you want.. lol

For my towel bars that didn't line up, I made a pretty "backing" of carved wood that was wide enough to cover the studs AND support the bars. Only problem with a cabinet is that now you have space between back of cabinet and wall. "Magazines" could go there discreetly
