I have one phone that is with Verizon and another with T-Mobile...I consier both providers vastly superior to everyone else out there. T-Mobile blows everyone else away if you travel abroad.

I agree, T-Mobile is great..but not many people have it. Where I live Cingular has great coverage, I never had a problem with it. I dont like verizon b/c they are CDMA.

3G does indeed kill battery life(as much as 50%)...as I have seen on Helio Ocean. And GPS in phones suck...have you ever used it? Its slow as hell. And the software is pure crap.

I'm one of 5 that is working with AT&T on the iphone launch, we are testing right now and I can said that the iphone is great, good resolution and so far there is no bugs on the OS. Once we are done testing we will get one for ourselfs.

Eitherway, this thread has been a little dead especially from the Apple fanboys. I made some good arguments seems there is no countering being done.

got a call from our AT&T service rep for my company - they want to sell me an iphone becuase im a VIP to them ( we do millions in business with AT&T). Sounds like im gonna buy a 4 gig and probably ebay it now

I am an engineer for AT&T, I've been optimizing the network in Nashville for the past month to fit the needs the iPhone. lol keeps me busy i guess
the only down I see is that it's not 3G for now. It comes out on the 29th and not before that. If someone told you that they saw it or touched it is because they stole it from the apple's warehouse/factory.

for whatever this is worth, just want to vent! I HATE AT&T/CINGULAR!! I just got the Palm Treo 750 last night and after 2 calls to the customer service...I can say that THEIR SERVICE SUCKS!! They overcharge as well! (T-Mo is $19.99 for blackberry/pda, and it's 30 bucks on Cingular for the exact same thing!!) I have to admit I'm a sucker for newer models so I'm stuck with AT&T for now.....unless Verizon has something within the next 29 days and I'll cancel AT&T without even thinking twice! oh...and...don't even get me started about the coverage/performance....fewest dropped calls...why? cuz you CAN'T even make the f*king calls for them to drop!!!! (they actually sued Sprint for claiming the most powerful network)

So those that are thinking of switching to AT&T....beware!

I have none of those problems with my T750 and Cingular network.

it's very subjective....but my standards and expectations are high..especially when paying premium $$ for their service...and cingular reception depends where you are....i could imagine that westchester wouldn't be having the issue compared to philly or NYC with lots of buildings and concrete...as i didnt see the issue when i was living in upstate NY

No problem with Cingular here. Dont plan on getting the data plan anyways. I will be using the Wifi!
