It relies on people putting information in, I know a group who is creating a list of google map bookmarks of known speed traps.

I elaborated on one in my area.
I think the speed limit is 45 on a 2 lane road without any houses around.
There is a park on the right, and about 50 ft after the park it bumps up to 55 mph.
3 cop cars are usually parked right near the park entrance on the inside, which has a 7-8ft tall concrete wall, so you arent able to see them there.
One cop will stand behind a wide bush that comes up to his chest/shoulder and is located 1ft from the road, then radar people. (Which I think was cut to be the perfect height for him)
Step out into the middle of the road, while cars are coming at him around 45+ mph, hoping they will stop. (A lot of cars have to slam on their brakes to stop in time)
Then wave the car in while the other cops write the ticket.
Very common to see them wave in 4-5 cars at a time. (I assume they radar in on one car in a pack, and flag the others in based on looks.)
You start to see them around the end of the month, so they can meet their quota.

Worst trap I have ever seen/heard of.
