Cool Next Infiniti G Coupe officially named G37

Autoblog: http://www.autoblog.com/2007/03/13/n...lly-named-g37/

Quote:
Set to be unveiled next month at the NY International Auto Show, the car now has a name attached to it: G37. This was confirmed in an email that went out earlier today from the show organizers. We also have a new teaser shot of the car, as you can see here. No reason's been given yet for the updated nomenclature, but we'll guess that a bumped-up 3.7L version of the VQ powerplant will reside under the coupe's hood.

The other Infiniti debut at NY is called the EX Concept, which is said to showcase new technology that the automaker will implement on production cars for the first time ever by the end of 2007. We'll be in the Big Apple to bring you all the news as it happens.

Been reading up on g35driver.com. Seems like the new g37 will have around 330hp. Should give the 335 a nice run for its money. In the end, German horses are still stronger then Japanese horses haha.

I'll stick with German engineering. Nothing feels like a BMW.

The G35 had a nice sound to it... G37 sounds stupid.

Will all manufactures start going to the 3.7 name (337i IS370 C370)? Most likely not.

you can drop a 1000hp engine into a civic but its still a civic

a g35 is still a hell of a lot nicer than a civic yes, but its no bmw

it makes me sad that a large number of people will choose the g37 just because it has 20 more hp

No...that's only because the Germans don't count all their horses. We Asians...being good at math and all...count all our horses.

Have there been any "spottings" of what the coupe will actually look like.

I remember looking a few months ago on some boards and they had nothing. It seems when it comes to BMW's and Ferrari's the enthusiasts seek 'em out like hawks.

it makes me even more sad that people will choose it because they think it has 20 more hp when its really down 10hp due to the german underating... oh well at least the 335 will be more rare

If the past is a guarantee of the future, the G37 will be a better looking G than its sedan sibling.

I read that they think it will have 325 Hp. But the coupe will be heavier than the e92, so as far as I am concerned the extra horses will only make it able to keep up with the 335 not beat it - but we'll see. Of course it will do better than the 328...

If it drives anything like the G35 Coupe its garbage, pure garbage. That car can't even make a U-turn, the turning radius sucks. I've driven one a couple of times and that thing feels like a boat and like it will flip any second. I'd stick with the G35 Sedan if you have to go Infiniti (the sedan is really nice, my friend just got one, beautiful car, and very comfortable). But I would go with a 335i E90 or E92 or even an Audi A5/S5 over the G coupe.

Well, it'll still be cheaper than a Bimmer too.

20 extra hp is threatening? Hmmm... PROcede?

Meh.

Wait until the Lexus IS-F comes out. Although, I suspect...it still won't feel that great to drive compared to the 3er.
