I see more-so that if you have an iPhone, why get an iPad. A macbook and an iPad are too different.

i carry my car manual in pdf form among other docs, movies, tv shows, and Zinio reader for my magazines... if you think it about it, it's perfect for that purpose, the laptop would be overkill for those things. plus now with the update i can print right from it those pdfs that i need printed.

Instead of carrying around a oversized iPhone, you can carry your 2.3lb laptop... http://www.apple.com/macbookair/specs.html I'm obviously one who just misses the point of an iPad when you have your laptop sitting next to you on the desk. |

I'm bored and just having a conversation I was using the Air as an example due to it being so light and mobile. I have a MBP and it does have some weight to it... Either way, I guess you're over it haha. |

People will grouse about the lowered productivity of the iPad, but it's like cars - a lot more people want 500hp than actually need 500hp. I get pretty much everything done on my iPad that I did with my laptop; the only real downside was the much smaller drive capacity. Currently, I use an app called Splashtop Remote, which lets me access my home computer from anywhere and view it on my iPad. That means I can run Office programs, watch DVDs or Flash videos, access my external drives, the whole 9 yards. Then I switch out and use the iPad and its apps for the other 90% of what I want to do, which is more media consumption than productivity. All using something smaller and lighter than the latest issue of Evo. Pretty cool. |
