Roy Williams has signed with the Bears. Maybe Martz can bring him back to the Pro Bowl form like his days in Detroit.

It's been years since Williams has shown any sort of brilliance like he showed in the beginning of his career. He's a prima donna and doesn't work hard enough on the field to make use of the massive amount of talent he has. If Martz can motivate him (I lol'd), sure he'll return to form. However, I don't see that happening.

Interesting that Davis went to the Lions and Williams is now with the Bears....

we only did that so he couldn't beat us with a last second touchdown pass like johnson did last year

What REALLY pissed me off is after the call was upheld, we just went straight back to that exact same play twice. Johnson's an animal but when you know exactly what's coming and your QB isn't all that accurate to start with, I think we probably had some better options. It was like everyone on the Lions sideline said "FINE, FUCK IT" and decided to pocket the loss and go home.

Do I think the refs blew the interpretation of the rule? Sure. However, the Bears were all over Johnson after that, meaning we had opportunities elsewhere on the field. We still should have won the game anyway, but that one was our own fault.

Anyone else thinking about what the eagles can do with Young and Vick on the same team? They are both throwing and running threats. Offensive Coordinators dream.

It'll be hard to develop an opinion about it before you see which Roy Williams shows up. Will it be the shitty one that people have been bitching about for years, or the one that we all know he could be?

If he ever maximizes his potential, he would be an incredible addition to the team. A guy with his size and skills, assuming he doesn't pull his normal shit, would be an excellent pickup for the Bears.

Who knows though.

I'm more concerned with whether or not we'll have a QB who has time to throw the ball to him, or if he'll be running for his life and/or knocked on his ass for the billionth time

If Bears don't resign Olin they're idiots IMO. Angello went out and got the QB to get when it all went down. He's shown flashes of brilliance. And he's just gonna get run into the ground, keep being forced to make "lesser of 2 evil" decisions, etc. without a decent line. It's like buying an Integra Type R, parking it on the street unlocked, and not buying any insurance. Protect your assets.

That will only be the beginning of what they need to do. My God, that line was bad.... There are some really good D-lines in this division this year. If you guys don't shore up your O-line, Cutler is gonna get raped a lot.

Cutler's A-hole is still gaping from last season... So it shouldn't be that painful.

Even though it says bears... it will be treated as the new NFL 2011 season thread.

Right, so you'd think signing the only consistent part of that line that has any clue what's going on should be a priority...apparently not...

A sad fucking day for Chicago sports. A class act was left off the roster, most likely intentional by Angelo - I'm sure he wants someone who can play for then next 4-5 years with the young guys rather than paying a premium for a guy who might last 1-2 at best. However, Kreutz is and always be a class act. Much like Frank Thomas was when he got axed from the Sox, one day this will all blow over and he will come back into the organization and get the recognition he truly deserves, hopefully a spot in the HOF (eventually), for the 13 years of service to Da Bears as a leader both on and off the field, a perennial Pro Bowler and one of the hardest working, humble guys you could have on your squad.

The Bears are now a lot worse off not having Kreutz at the helm.

Da Coach would have never allowed dis move.

What good is it to sign free agent offensive skill players if your offensive line won't protect your quarterback long enough to get them the ball?

Not to mention Olin is the only one who knows how to run the O line. In a year with such an abbreviated training camp, how is this not worth 500k. Now the Bear's most veteran lineman is Roberto Garza I think? Yea...
