I know you started this thread to gauge everyone's opinions but I say make your own mind up.

Red paint costs nothing so give it a go and see what you think... If you hate the look then break out the black paint and try again. Simples

True, I did buy the paint anyway, so it's just sitting there. Might as well.. if I decided not to go red I would go black anyway.

Here's a side by side shot of standard 335 brakes painted red and a red Brembo BBK.

Look to me like the standard 335 brakes can look good when painted red.
