ridiculous update.

ok... my friend went back to vegas yesterday (work related) & turned $500... in to $24,000 at black jack (venetian again).

a total in 1 weeks time, $65,000 tax free money. i'm about to invest in him. WOW.

this time they gave him a check to travel with instead of cash. last week he wasn't aware of this choice.

I highly doubt it is tax free. The IRS will be sending him something so I would suggest he put 30 percent aside for good old uncle sam.

He does need to claim it or gift $11k to each child if he has one or use it to pay off his house for remodeling or something like that.

Its tax free if he fails to report it.....but then again, that is considered tax fraud/ tax evasion.

I'm pretty the Venetian has already send in the tax forms too since it's a single cash transcation above $10K.

he asked 3 times if he had to declare his winnings and the casino said no. he kept asking... are you going to 1099 me?? any forms i need to fill out??... the casino kept saying absolutely not. the airport didn't make him claim/declare it either.

his accountant... may have different plans.
