will they make another 335is

is the 335is a collector car? i.e., will there me more 335is cars in the future? How will the current 335is compare to the new m4?

The 335is wont be collected, at least not for several decades. It will be the most desirable E92 335 ever produced because it's a North America exclusive and the last N54 production BMW.

There will never be another 335is because there will be no more 3 coupes. The real question I have been looking to answer is how many 335is's were produced. I have seen some really low figures (nothing official) that would indicate the car might be very rare. I think what can be expected for the 335is is to hold value much better than other 335's. Unmolested stock examples will be high value targets for future enthusiasts.

I average about 22 mpg mixed which ends up being city miles with all the stop and go traffic. I use E0 93 octane. In my experience the E0 has given me about 2 mpg better than E10 in other vehicles. Haven't really run E10 in my 335is to test it yet.

Any updates on this? I'm looking at CPO 335is at the moment, and I've noticed the odometers reading averages in the 12-13 MPG range....any explanation for why this may be? Would this allude to something being wrong with the car? I mean hell....that's worse mileage than the M3!

They could start it up and move it around the lot which would account for the low mileage. If its CPO you don't have anything to worry about and I doubt there is anything wrong with the car.

Also, my average MPG on the trip average screen shows 34.1 mpg and when I calculated it manually using the odometer and gas pump reading it only showed 25.x mpg. Not sure if the JB4 is messing with the figures or not.

If you bought it to drive it and make it yours - Molest it repeatedly
If you bought it to save it for future resale - Lock it up and wait.

Either way it is a fantastic car and I don't think you will have to wait long for it to be a collectors car - my BMW dealer keeps getting people asking for it even now and cannot keep them on the lot used once they get one; they sell faster than the new M235i and others - average price I see ranges from 31K-41k with the mileage in the 30K range - not bad at holding value. Dealer asked me if I would sell them mine and I declined of course. Good sign dare I prognosticate!

On the 335is production numbers - more than you think but still under 10,000 total including the verts.

I've had mine since Dec 14 and put 2000+ miles on so far. I seem to be getting pretty consistent 18.8mpg. I don't go easy on the car, but I guess the pedal isn't on the floor 100% of the time.

Do the math...

548 miles / 15.9 gallons to refill = approximately 34MPG. 95% highway, on one round trip on the same day.

It's an N54, is this surprising to anyone? Unless you granny it everywhere, or push your car everywhere, this will happen.

Are you tuned? Do you like to mash it at every opportunity? Driving styles and tunes can adversely affect gas mileage.

Well, as a parent of two lil guys, you can't exactly spook them w/ aggressive driving... but was average between 60-75.

I had the car for only 1 month, and the daily city routine varies between 10.4 l/100Km (or 22.62 mpg) at best and 12 l/100Km (or 19.6 mpg) at worst - the latter figure when the traffic is really jammed up. Didn't have the opportunity to see what I get on the Hi-way. Also, this is close-to-granny-style driving / sedated. Can't really mash her with busy streets. But she's alive, once I go in the evening or back roads...

Run a bottle of techron thru it. Maybe walnut blast the intake valves. Also, next time you change the oil, run a motor flush through it before you drain the oil.

I picked up my CPO in June and I get an average of 21 pretty much driving in sport mode. If I go on a trip and just leave it in drive I can get 24 out of it. And forget about it if I put it in manual and play.

Regards

25.2 average with light mods including Dinan stage 2 tune. 12's seem awfully low for an N54 ?

I've been averaging 21.6 according to my board computer. But I would say I do about 80% highway miles. I noticed that when I do mostly city driving, I can't get above 19.2 at the very best.
