Just tried taking a bulb out. On the app it said that the voltage checks for angel eyes was already turned off, but I got an error code when I took it out, tried turning it on and off but still got the error code?!? Not sure what's going on with it, unless there is another setting in one of the modules that I can't get into

You using their official dongle mate?
Seems quite alot is missing using the "cheaper" modules. I needed the BT dongle, direct from them inc paypal fees and shipping the the UK was £25, so not that expencive...

What version of the app do you have, some of the "pirated versions" are out of date and will not have all the newest options. Its worth the $50 bucks to have it all and up to date.
my 2008 I can code either way, the BT donge or the OTG cable on android. Although his spreadsheet states otherwise. |

I think people are getting mixed results with all sorts of different dongles/cables/adaptors. That's why I have shelled out for the official one, should now give me full access.

Does this app give same fault codes that a dealer would use. Ive used the torque app in the past and it gives more generic codes that are not specific enough. If this gives dealer codes ill buy it

No, you need the cable...
It says on the site that earlier cars need the cable... Saying that, is it the app telling you need the cable? Mine said that, and was really slow connecting, I turned the bluetooth off in the car (phone bluetooth) and then bmwhatt worked first time

Everyone having issues, if your car has bluetooth as an option, unpair your phone before connecting to bmwhatt

I received my official dongle today. Plugged it in, iPhone app launched and then spent half an hour trying to get it to connect AND allow me to code the ECUs. At first it kept telling me that the WiFi wasn't good enough for my ECUs and that I needed an OBD cable which isn't available for the iPhone. Not a good start but undeterred I started playing with the connection settings increasing speed and using alternative methods of connection etc and hey presto, it read 7 ECUs.
Once connected coding is an absolute dream and much faster than I imagined. Just changed 2 parameters so far; auto folding mirrors on lock and the number of times the indicators flash using the intermittent setting. I like the way it saves a backup of each ECU before allowing any coding to take place and a reset of each one is very easy. All in all it is a good buy and I am well happy so far. So if you can't get it to code even after connecting, persevere and you might get lucky. My car is a 2011 330D M Sport Last edited by Bazza; 08-15-2014 at 05:58 AM.. |

Hi Bazza
Can you confirm if you have access to all 7 for coding, too? My £10 ebay jobbie finds all 7 ECU's, however (If I remember rightly) the last 3 (Including the security ecu) it can't create backups & says I need the genuine dongle. Thanks Jordan |

Hi guys - I know it's been covered but just to confirm I have a 56 plate so would need the cable which isn't available for the iphone? Is there anyway I can get around this?

Hi Jordan. Yes, here's a screen capture of what I can code. CTM module is "Convertible Top Module" I believe so not applicable in my case.
