I spend about $40-50 per time we go out. This includes a tip, a beer, and maybe an extra meal for the next day. The small cash only places that cook awesome food are where it's at; Queens usually has a lot of these. I can really care less on what the atmosphere of the restaurant is. If the food is great, who cares. We mostly cook at home. We both can cook decently well so that's a plus.

When I actually make enough money to just spend $2k a month on just dining out for shits n gigs, I probably wouldn't anyway.

A whole pack of Wright's is about $20, most times I go out, it's always that thin pussy bacon. That's right. Pussy bacon.

Had a great ribeye tonight at a hotel restaurant in South Bend, IN. Ok, it's not NYC, but the steak and sides were quite good. Atmosphere was so-so and Wifey's fish & chips could have been warmer, but otherwise not a bad meal. With 2 beers and coffee after, it came to $53 before tip. Not sure what another $50 would have bought us. Maybe a quieter table and better atmosphere.

Not bad if the seafood was good.

But I decided to move back in with my parents after a few months. Not only do my parents live in a VERY nice home, but they're also getting older in age (my father just turned 70), and they need a lot more help around the house. So I take care of cleaning, doing outdoor work and landscaping, helping my dad out with projects or moving things into storage, etc. In turn, I don't have to pay any sort of rent, just my portion of the tv/internet bill. I also buy my own food & groceries and pay my own cell phone bill.

It's just a better living situation for me. Wouldn't say "poor" by any means, as I'll still have roughly 30% of my income left over at the end of the month, after paying my health insurance, car payment, car insurance, gas, tv/internet, cell phone, and grocery bills, along with any money I spend going out to eat/drink.
Good for you kid. Although I wouldn't agree on getting that F8x at such a young age, it might still be a good idea to get that (kid lusts for nice car) feeling out of the way early on. Save as much as you can and don't mod your car. LOL I know that's like asking a teenager to refrain from having sex. The M honestly won't need any modding and you'll save a shit load of cash. You're on to good start with a more than favorable environment.

I am not saying you are "poor."

When someone who tells us they make less than $5K/mo but has $20K in cash to put a downpayment towards a $70K car and spread the payments to 6.5 years to make it affordable, you are obviously spending most of your income on a car.

To each their own buddy, I'm not dissing you in anyway. Enjoy the car!

We know you're showing off, which you typically do here and that's fine. However, $240k/yr in Orange County is good, not great and $2k/month on food is too much for only pulling down $240k in California. That means he's spending 10% of his income on food...lol.

Serious. Eating out 4-5 times week? And spend that much money every time to boot. Wtf? I guess $2k a month isn't that much when pulling in $20k a month but still, that's just wasteful. What happens when that money stops flowing in...?

People who brag about how much their friend, sugga dada, wife, husband, Cool-Kat friend who graduated from Wharton together actually spend $9.99 on family dinner.

*looks good though... gotta resist fries*

With drinks; $100.00 is typical, $300.00 for a nice dinner. That does just fine here in East TN.

Correction - 10% of his/their pre-tax income on just going out to eat, not on food. Aside from the financial "waste" of it, even if you can afford it, it's just not fun to go out that often. Why would you want to? There is absolutely nothing special about going out almost every night. Ask anyone who travels or is on the road a lot. To each his own I guess....

+1

I travel 75% for business, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate having a home cooked meal when I'm home.

Jesus fucking christ, what rational thought passed your mind that said, "I can justify spending almost 50 bucks on two pizzas"?

Dude, that's too much man haha.
