can we update our own or does it need to be the dealer?

I'm curious to see the version to compare to others with the new updated "heavier steering feel" adjustments. I assume i'm not on the latest as A.S.S still works in Sport Mode, and it seems in the new DME update it no longer works in Sport?
I am not sure what you mean by version?

Yes, you can flash DME with E-Sys.

So I am under the assumption DME is what would control the steering weight of the steering wheel, and many reports on the forums seem to show when cars went in for service, they came out with a software update and heavier steering feel.

I want to flash my DME to the latest version to see if I see these changes.

Part of this I guess would be 1) to see what "version" I am on, and 2) what version to flash to? Am I on the right path here?

I don't know. It seems odd to me the Motor Control unit would affect steering.

For this purpose those, your current version would be determined by the car's current I-Step, which corresponds to the last version of ISTA/P used to program the car (e.g. 2.51.0):

http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...postcount=1403

And you would be flashing that one module to a higher I-Step, which is determined by the PSdZData version you use (e.g. 2.52.3)

So I'm on F020-14-03-503, which according to http://www.file-upload.net/download-...RVIEW.pdf.html

is connected to all 3? 52.3 52.4 or 52.5...

So I guess I am on the latest available I-Step right? My Steering doesn't feel heavier despite the new version... I guess I'm just expecting that e9x feel. ;\

Yes, F020-14-03-503 is the latest I-Step, but oddly, 52.5 has new Fxx CAFD and SWFL Firmware files, which is strange. I don't know what ECU they are for though.

shawnsheridan,

Could you shoot me a link to the 2015 NA nav map?

Also,

Could anyone let me know if it's possible to use a code to enable video playback via USB? I'd like to use a hard drive or maybe an old USB iPod Classic that I have a bunch of videos stored on and play them on the NBT nav screen without having to drop $200+ on a media snap-in adapter that may only work for existing versions of the iPhone and Galaxy phones.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you can enable Video Play from USB with NBT Head Unit as follows:

ENT_MC_VIDEO_SUPPORT = aktiv
API_USB_VIDEO = both
ENT_CODEC_OGG = aktiv
ENT_CODEC_VCD = aktiv
ENT_CODEC_XVID = aktiv

Exx and Fxx are two completely different animals, and besides needing the two different cables, they also require different software and coding data files.

Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to code the angels eyes light up when the vehicle is unlocked?

I have a 320 F30 and have coded the sports display to screen, but it does not work measurements. This happened because my car doesn't have professional navigation system or because i miss any code?

Thank you.

For F10 it is FRM => WL_FUNKTION_POL, but I see nothing like this for F30 in FEM_BODY.
