If you're going with a filter only, you'd be better off getting Pipercross, BMC or a green filter

I am running the AFE dry flow and have seen great results from my data logging.

AFE filters are good as well but expensive

Yes indeed. I'm not going to test any other brand because I know it will show minimal difference in airflow. Hard to test the filtering ability at home... So I justify my purchase there .

Is a K&N filter going to give me MAF sensor issues?

Only if it has too much oil during operation.

does anyone make front mount intakes like these for the n55 besides MSR that cost about sixty billion dollars for bent aluminum.

I have the CTS Turbo intake, if you like constant turbo sounds with every throttle press then it's definitely the one to go with

I recently bought an INJEN off a member on here for a pretty cheap price and it was just about brand new. No issues. Car runs as if it still has the factory intake. I didn't notice much of a throttle response difference. Just a lot more noise which at first I was kind of unsure about but I like it. Comfort mode it's pretty normal. When I open it up it sounds awesome. No CEL. I went open because I eventually plan on being full bolt on and possibly stage 2 turbos so figured might as well grab it now while it was cheap. I also had injen in other cars with no problem. In my opinion, it's a pipe and a filter. No reason to over complicate it and over pay.

Could have saved some more money and gone with a drop in filter. You'd actually get some better hp and flow. The open air filters under the hood only add noise and actually make you lose some torque down low. Closed box is always better, just doesn't sound as good. The MPPSK air box is the same as stock with an additional hole/velocity stack on the bottom box.

What research do you have that shows adding an open filter makes you lose power?

The AWE intake looks the best I think. The filter surface area looks huge! Too bad they stopped making it. If anyone has one I'll buy it off you right away.

Just buy this one... However the Turner looks like it adds more power for $200 less.

I also run with a Dinan CAI. Prefect fit, nice sound, and no codes. You get what you pay for.

Hey team,

I just got the BMS short ram, they claim typical 10hp/10tq but most importantly alot more sound from the engine.

When coupled with an upgraded intercooler- will I still see heat soak and loss of power?

I thought for $200 it was worth throwing on but alot of talk about air flow sensor issues and check engine lights on here has me worried..

The BMS N55 intake is one of the tried and true options for the platform, great power gains, great sound, good price.
