Yeah he better be worried, because if people give G+ a chance it will over take FB. But it has to be "cool" for the millions of kids to latch on.

While I haven't been on facebook for a while, google+ uses "circles" of friends, so share different things with your friends, family, work, etc. Additionally, the "friending" seems to work more like twitter, in that just because someone added you to their circle, doesn't mean you necessarily are following them, and getting their feed. If you're on facebook, you'll probably just have to try using it to see how the differences work. Right now it's ok, nothing special, but I'll stick around and see where it goes, if anywhere.

The effects of this I'm hoping don't necessarily come to g+...one of the main reasons I left facebook was that it just became an overload of noise, nothing worthwhile really, a bunch of people putting their lives online without much productive purpose. I'm hoping G+ can become a more productive social network, allowing for the sharing of docs, calendars, maps, etc. Google has really been working to overcome the obvious limitations of email, and while the wave thing didn't catch on, maybe they are on to something here.

Best way I've been able to explain my rationale is that facebook has nothing of its own. It has the site, but nothing else. If you want to map something, if you want reviews, if you emails, if you want XYZ, it has to rely on someone else. Google has ALL of this. All they simply need to do is integrate it. Another sweet thing is the huddle app. The BBM of the android world. |

well i think the future fall of google+ is the fact that people aren't going to want to keep up with a hundred different social media sites. linkedin is #2 because it's not trying to replace facebook. it does something simple and specialized. the only thing i see google+ being good at is merging all of people's google content in a combined, sharable way. i think google+ will end up being something like myspace or facebook for chinese citizens (outside of the great firewall of china).

Case in point, the number of computer engineers/programmers/etc outnumber the rest by literally about a 100:1 |
