Going off of hearsay from numerous members on other forums. A large majority of most owners I've had interactions with agree that a springs-only approach should only be used short term if at all. 10k may be low, but I certainly won't be finding out. Apparently the BMW shocks area weak point - perhaps this will not be so with the e92.

I'm wondering what the cost differential will be. My TC Kline Double Adjustables ran me about $2,500 including camber plates. With EDC, performance coilovers could get in the $3,000-3,500 range real quickly I would imagine.

How much is the Tein adjustable system? Isn't it ~$5k for everything?

Has anyone been successful in ordering and receiving these springs recently?
I have heard of a backlog on Tire Rack but wanted to know if anyone has had any luck with other vendors... P.S. Can anyone confirm if Hartge springs are made by H&R? I need springs NOW!

This "issue" of aftermarket springs killing OEM shocks is one of those "Sasquach" of the Internet: every now and then it comes up as some kind of fact but at the end of the day nobody has seen the mofo in person, much less prove the existence of such a creature. |

I'm glad that you brought this thread back Mark. I was just going to try and order these springs today. Hmm, it looks like I'll have to call some vendors tomorrow and see if anybody has them. I'll keep you posted. BTW, did you pick up your car yet??

My friend installed h&R springs on his EDC M6. After 4 months the shocks blew out and he had to buy brand new shocks with no warrnty coverage from BMW.
I would not buy H&R springs for an EDC M3. It is way too aggressive at least for M6. It is too bad cuz the M3 has SUV like wheel and fender gaps.

Jason's OP says 1" front and 0.6" rear (opposite of what you stated). I agree that the gap is not the worst, but does look much better reduced.

i imagine a 1" and a .6" drop with the stiffest EDC option isnt that bad. i dont think it'll blow in 4 months. maybe if u lower on race and commute in LA every day, maybe

Lowering springs
Ideally, BMW would come out with their own lowering springs as part of the performance parts line, but I'm not holding my breath.
