I have a brand new 328d as a loaner car (same power output as the 320d in the video) and I agree, if I was looking for a DD of this nature it is a great package. I actually prefer the 328d to the 320i due to the effortless acceleration, it is quieter under load and feels more regal in its power delivery.

He's right, except with a 330d you'd get not much less economy and whole lot more urge, and fair bit nicer a noise coming from the engine.

Anyone got a 320i to compare? I had one as a loan car last year and was very impressed. Obviously not as much torque, but more fun with the wider rev range and still enough from the turbo. Perhaps a better option if you don't do many miles?

Yes 330D is good , only one problem if you don't got the money for a 330D then what ? Not every one got money for a 330d

In the UK if you were going to put the auto on a 320d then as its standard on the 330d you'd find that the monthly payments may not be that much more.

My previous car was a 320d and the problem was it never put a smile on my face, ever. I would admire it for its excellent fuel economy, its decent performance and its long range and reliability.
To me it was more like an expensive Meile washing machine, you can admire it for its quality but its ultimately just an appliance. The 330d's shove on the other hand can have me grinning from ear to ear and to me is definitely worth the small extra outlay (spec adjusted, add met paint, auto and front pdc to the 320d then look at the prince difference, it would be rude not to upgrade at that point). |

WOW. let's stop this train de-railing and update this thread with some 6 week old news.. LOL May 06, 2015 new Top Gear trio with model Jodie Kidd, television host Guy Martin, and actor Philip Glenister has reportedly been chosen to replace the team up of long-time presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May. The new line up was overheard being discussed by resigned Top Gear co-creator Andy Wilman with Jamiroquai singer Jay Kay in Sussex, reported the Sunday Express. Top Gear creator and producer Wilman had also resigned from the show, although reports say he was collaborating with BBC 2 controller Kim Shillingshaw to present the shelved final three episodes of Top Gear Season 22 using footages of Clarkson and his co-presenters. Top Gear Season 23 is expected to be back on television by spring next year at the earliest. That's the main problem with diesels... I find them very boring as a DD. I totally agree with Chris... the 320d is quite quick up until about 200 or 210, but then it looses steam fast. A better bet would be a 330d or better yet an Alpina D3. But still... its a diesel and I just can't get excited over driving them. They are great as a rental car, but not as my DD. I need FUN!
Sure its great going 1,200 kms per tank. But other than that... a deisel engine just isn't fun winding out on a back road or on an Autobahn like a proper gas engine. Dackel

Exactly, a diesel is good for commuting. Really really good. I really like my 328d - it's super impressive.

The new host is Chris Evans. He has been confirmed by the BBC. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-33158464 Alongside him will be two totally new presenters which will be chosen via auditions. These auditions are open for everyone! So everyone of you can come down to the UK and try out as a new presenter http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/t...-evans-5903628 As for Clarkson, Hammond and May, they are currently negotiating to get a new car show up and running. Rumor has it that Netflix is gonna be the lucky one and that the show will likely be called "House Of Cars" http://uk.businessinsider.com/jeremy...es-2015-6?r=US I hope the whole Top Gear situation is now clear to everyone |
