Agree the wife and I really enjoyed it, plus the three female leads were all excellent, we love Anya Taylor-Joy and Diana Rigg.

I was shocked by it. I love a bug movie but expected 70's dross and got a really, really, really good movie with a proper story and character development and even ok effects.
That and alien were really really good.

Blue Bayou on HBO was a very good and powerfully acted movie. Damn it was moving. Very much worth checking out.

Love Me Tender.
Classic film with Confederate outlaws continuing to fight robbing Federates after the Civil war was declared over and introducing Elvis Presley.

Best scene was with Cornwallis and the British Dragoon Commander talking about giving the Dragoon Commander part of Ohio for his service if they defeat the Colonists with England winning the war. Interesting thought on alternate history if we lost.

Think about how much they (the 3%) gave to overcome tyranny. In the face of adversity and death, colonists defeated the most advanced army on the planet at that time using unconventional warfare and battlefield tactics invented by farmers and laymen. I live not far from Cowpens where Patriots drew the British forces into the center of the field only to close ranks on their sides - and with the support of cavalry - encircling the British troops (which had never been done before) and led to the Colonials being victorious.

Agree, tough call.

The original was, um, unique... yet, on some level, it really works for me.
The remake was pretty true to the original, yet somewhat more mainstream.

Both great - in different ways.

Can't wait for the second half.

Liked them both. And there was so much time between the original and the remake that for me they stand on their own.

Wife and I watched The Lost City streaming on Paramount the other night....I wanted to like it so much more, especially with the reviews. But we thought it stunk, actually.

I needed a mindless movie to distract my brain for a bit.
Well, I found one.

This was really mediocre.

It was like the writer had just watched The Thing, Edge of Tomorrow, and Starship Troopers - decided to mash them together, and eliminate everything unique about all three.

I definitely got the "Edge of Tomorrow/Starship Troopers" feel from it.

Yep, I agree. Nothing really special. Wants to be our new American hero. I think he's fallen a little short of that. He's okay but he's not all that imo.
