Cool Thoughts On New VW 2011 Jetta?

i think it is amazing. best bang for the buck once it comes out. the exterior is fine but the interior is just amazing especially the back and front audi sport style seats.

diesel and gas engines will be available offering great mpg on regular gas as well.

your thoughts?

If you get a diesel, you'll save some cash at the pump. Where you put that extra cash is up to you.

No research, but I've heard TDI doesn't have great reliability. Any comments?

I actually really like the styling of it. Very upscale, and if you switched the VW badges with Audi ones, it could pass as an Audi.

I'll have to wait until the price sheets have been released. I wouldn't pay any more than $24-25,000 for a fully kitted out TDI. But that still doesn't erase the concerns I have over VW's reliability. From things I've read people either have few problems or a ton. Plus the repair/maintenance costs for it being a German car will be more than rivals like the new Focus, Mazda 3, etc.

It got cheaped out considerably to make it more competitive. It's going to drive like a Japanese car more than a German car now IMO. Rear suspension is going to be beam axle now, I believe. Research the changes if you're interested in one.

I actually thought the new interior looked to be of lower quality.

TDI + DSG ftw. The tennis pro at my club has one. I drove it just to see what it was like (Im a car whore) and I have to say it is a fantastic daily driver. Very torque rich.

I thought the touareg and the cayenne shared the same platform and the q7 was something altogether different (and grossly overweight)

I like it. Remember, we're probably getting the Polo Sedan as well, so the Jetta had to be bigger.
