BMW E92 rear M3 style bootspoiler

New to the forum here. Just enquiring did anybody purchase and fit an M3 style bootspoiler to their car. If so where was it purchased? I have got a quote from my local dealer and the price is crazy!!

I bought a bootspoiler on ebay for my old E46 and the 3M tape that came attached to it was raised and although it fitted well, you could see the edges at the end of the spoiler beside the rear quarter panel.

Any help with this would be much appreciated

I think most people buy them off fleaBay and use no-more-nails...... the tape not the gun !

There are so many sites on fleabay selling the painted version with various price ranges. Which site would be the best one to buy from?

I bought an original, having tried two off ebay (money refunded).

Don't waste your time on crap copies; they simply aren't the same no matter what they tell you, get an original! You will need the chassis no of an M3 though. It also comes with the proper tape kit too!

I also found that the copies don't fit the boot and follow the contour properly and have to be bent, thus stressing the spoiler and the paint. The original spoiler fits perfectly of course.

If you can spend n thousand on the car, spend a couple of hundred quid and get the OEM spoiler painted, finished and fitted by a dealer! Do it properly!

Thanks guys. I was going to buy one off fleabay but have now decided against it! I already got the 335d exhaust conversion from the guys in mstyle when I collected the car in England last month. Pretty good job too!! Transforms the car. I'll enquire about getting the spoiler

Got to SSDD (Teddy) - I think it's £99 (painted) and use no more nails tape. The boot lip tape from the dealer is rubbish.

I found SSDD's spoiler rubbish too!

If you can get an OEM spoiler from bmwstyle above as that cost buy it! I got mine for cost in the end at it was more than that (just!)

The SSDD spoiler was good for me, yes you have to flex it (just a little), but I have had no problems (apart from crappy 3M tape which I got from my local dealer).

Did you buy the actual tape fitting kit (it's about a tenner) or just some regular tape? I bought the tape kit from the dealer to fit the replica spoiler, but never used it as I got the original as above (which comes with the 3 tapes pieces).

To be honest, I asked for the M3 boot lip spoiler tape and the dealer sold me a roll of 3M tape for about £5 - sounds like they may have sold me the wrong part (typical)

Yup, they sure did - I could probably even find the part number if I had a look!

The 3m tape is fine...its all in the fitting.I got a OEM from USA and its got hardly any flex in it at all. They even painted it in Le Mans Blue for me and in 2days of business.Only when i collected it did the penny drop that i was english and that Le Mans is a Euro colour only.Mind you they made no fuss and i can honestly say i have a proper one.Cost was $224 all in and thats was then it was $2 to a pound.
