This is an aesthetic modification. As the car warms up, the redline moves higher.

All the info to do this is on forums
Someone made a software to make it easy to set up the cluster coding to change the scaling etc.

Surely there is not a specific Diesel wAy. The clusters are the same electronically, they both get the rpm signal from the DME.

I think you can even make a dynamic redline out of a second clusters cruise control motor and some red/yellow electrical tape. You don’t need an m3 cluster

Considering diesels don't have a DME, it may be different from what you expect.

DDE DME ECU lots of names for engine computer

All use Rpm signal down the CAN line right?

KOMBI’s must all operate the same way surely…

Dunno. I tried to code mpg gauge as temp gauge on my 330d, but it didn't work apparently because it only works on 335d. I bet you a cup of tea at my place there's more to it than meets the eye

This only works with a EDC16 DDE. Nothing to do with what car it's attached to.

Exactly what I tried. I can't remember where I read it now, but apparently only works on 335d, not 330d.
