318i e91 cranking but not starting

So i had an isssue where my wife’s 318i kept on running and cutting out. On the diagnoses I noticed the lpfp was producing around 75psi and hpfp was the same so I replaced the high pressure fuel pump. We then had 75psi at lpfp and now have 2000psi on hpfp. It has been running great for the last few days. My wife then put petrol in the car today and then you have to crank it about 10 times before it starts but when it’s running it doesn’t miss a beat. Do you have to bleed these systems? I also fitted 4 brand new injectors to the engine 6 months ago so injectors won’t be leaking down. Does any one have any ideas?

Codes. Read the codes, clear them, run it and read them again.

System should self-bleed as far as I'm aware.

Thanks for the reply. The codes are for 4 injectors not firing cleared codes and then they have come back. When I finally get the car to run it runs like a dream. The injectors are only 6 months old from bmw. This car is getting the better of me 🙈. Ecu isn’t floating in water and the battery is good too.

Sounds a lot like bad DME; 1 or more blown MOSFETs.

Good news is that it's a cheap fix, providing you're handy with soldering.

You can probably test it by probing wires before disassembly, but I'm not sure exactly what you'd be measuring. There are likely to be videos on YT covering it, though they'll all be relating to 6cyl engines...I'm assuming the 4cyl are the same story.
