Find out why. It's either from environmental factors like where you live, where you work, what you eat, or it's from pathogenic influences. Genes play a small role but not as much as people think for this.

OK, I'm going to tell you everything I know about shingles and everything I know about the shingles vaccine. Also whether or not I think it's a good idea to get it.

Because that determines who is eligible and if your insurance will pay for it

Knock wood, I'm not really concerned about it and everyone's insurance is different.

I knew a guy that once had it on a testicle. It became swollen to about the size of a grapefruit. He couldn't stand, he couldn't sit, he couldn't lay down. It lasted over a month and he was a miserable human being.

I know someone in their late 70's who is practically blind in one eye from shingles, and partially blind in the other eye.....

It's like saying you have a strong immune system - so you don't have to worry about heart disease.

Colds, flu, etc I'm right there with you though - I prefer to let my body handle fighting those out on their own as opposed to stuffing myself full of antibiotics, etc.

Everyone has to choose their own path though.
I fixed that for you.
