are you talking about the one where you go and wash it yourself or those touchless car wash places?

ummm both i guess? haha. I just moved down to sj this past march, so I don't know where the "good quality" places are. I've been washing my pos honda at this one shell station off of tully since my paint is messed up anyway. But now that i got my bimmer I need to get it washed at a place that won't mess up the car. i live off of curtner and haven't seen any around there.

I guess a good wash costs around 30 bucks. B/c that one place listed in sunnyvale costs 30 bucks for a car wash too. But I guess if they do a good job, it's worth the money. Back in the east bay the hand wash places costed about 15 bucks for a hand wash. Thanks for the info shragon

Man I went to details plus in sunnyvale this mornings and it was the first time getting my car washed and since it costs 30 bucks for a car wash, i figure it'd come out perfect, but to my disappointed, i noticed marks, not swirl marks, but "up and down" marks on the hood showing the direction of the sponge/mitt. And on the trunk there was a fine line/scratch. I was late for an appointment so I took a quick look around the car, but when I got home i looked at it carefully in the sun and noticed those two areas. I'm not sure if i'm being ocd, but i expected more. From what I hear from other members they do a good job in detailing, but as far as washing is concerned, I was dissatisfied. Not sure if I should call and let them know, or go get some kind of polishing/detailing product and take care of it. Any suggestions?

I go to Pacific Car Wash in Campbell..on Bascom Avenue..near Hamilton..theirs is a HAND CAR WASH.

I like them a lot...cost with coupon for my car is only $24 + tip.

hmmm i'm going to have to look into that. Since you have AW, it'll be hard to see any swirl marks that are left if there are any. But thanks for the info man.

update. AJ's car wash is no different from Detailsplus in Sunnyvale. Both produced swirl marks. I have no opinion as to their detailing job, but if you guys want to get your cars detailed, I'd take it to AP Detailing Center in San Jose.

FYI,

I am going back to stock (trading for x5) and I called Modacar to re-install the stock springs. They wanted $350!?...I paid them $200 last year to put on my H&R's.
