Why does the first post in this thread say that the new professional navigation system has 200 GB hard drive and the old one 80 GB when the F31 catalogue (http://www.f30post.com/forums/showth...&highlight=f31) says 20 GB (F30 catalogue said 12 GB)? What model gets 200 GB? F10/F11?

???
I want all I can get in Sweden but we don't buy a cheap tech package here but rather an expensive nav separately together with a lot of other separate stuff making it a lot more expensive than the tech package. Assist doesn't even work in Sweden but we still pay as much as others. It's a shame really. |

How reliable/official are these dates for the new nav being released into the production cycle?

sorry for thread resurrection... can't seem to find any up-to-date details on this topic though..
are these dates only for cars with nav, what about F-cars that just have standard iDrive? |

New Nav
Is this new nave system still DVD based or not. I hope not as the DVD is out dated by the time it is released for updates and cost too much. Not to mention that the support company keeps changing for offering the overpriced update DVD's.

This is a very timely reintroduction of this thread for me. I spent about an hour this morning with my new MY13 M5 learning the new iDrive and many of these functions are not available, at least in the US - right?
For example, obviously we don't have the new touch controller. I don't believe hotspot functionality is there? I can't get email and message functions with my iPhone iOS 6. What about weather? I have the icon checked, but don't see weather displayed anywhere. Am I missing something? Are there other functions that were announced for July 12 production that didn't actually make it to the US?

Not the component parts. You would need to replace the entire Head Unit.
