I initially got LA Police Gear's bailout bag. It's still on sale for $20 + s/h. If you're bringing a single full size handgun, ammo, mags, speed reloaders, and some cleaning tools you'll have plenty of room. You can even fit a second handgun w/ a velcro holster in the large, external pocket. It comes w/ a removable divider in the main compartment. http://www.lapolicegear.com/tabaoutbag.html I also picked up MidwayUSA's Compact Competition Range Bag (on sale for $30). Even though it's the "compact" version, it's frickin' huge. I can fit my CZ (4.75"), XDM45 (4.5"), and Buckmark (5.5") + ammo for all + small targets + cleaning equipment + 6-mag holder (I don't use the one built into the bag) + eye & ear protection + speed reloaders and still have room left over. Note that I carry each handgun in its own each pistol case thereby taking up extra room. I wish this had a couple of small side pouches like LAPG's bailout bag and an internal divider, but this thing is still a beast. I can always pick up a cheap camera bag insert to use in the main pocket use the diveders from it to help customize the storage space. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/939...tion-range-bag You may also find something from Maxpedition (www.maxpedition.com). Mike mentioned them earlier and I second them. I have several of their packs (verispacks, gearslinger, and backpacks) and they take major abuse. Plus, the molle webbing most of them have make it easy to add on additional pouches and such to customize your bag. They're more expensive then the other options I mentioned and I don't use mine for the range. That's only because I wanted a dedicated range bag, though.

Good luck. I had to ship a chipped guide rod back to them back in 94 and it took a while to get a new one shipped out

The shoulder strap HW is plastic, not metal, but if you don't anticipate using it as a bolo it should hold up fine. The nice thing about the side pockets (mag pouches) are that: 1) the cover is adjustable via velcro inside the pocket and 2) near perfect size for a Uplula speed reloader. If you have a compact handgun, you can probably fit it + a soft gun case/pouch inside the outer velcro pocket. A 10" pistol 'pouch' won't fit in it, though. All in all, if you can't use it as a range bag, it'll work great for a variety of other instances (e.g. trunk bag for tools and such). You won't regret picking this bag up!

If you have a FFL that will accept transfers (as opposed to the FFL ordering it himself), you can call CDNN and they will ship it directly to them. Just pay CDNN for the pistol and shipping, then settle with the FFL once the pistol gets there. If your FFL will call CDNN and order it for a reasonable fee, you can do that too. I have no idea how much your local FFLs charge, but mine charged $25+tax to accept the transfer, which is cheap for Hawaii.

And I definitely agree that Springfield Armory 1911s are outstanding. You get A LOT for your money. Most importantly, you get a reliable and proven 1911 backed by exemplary customer service. Quote:

I've been meaning to take some pictures of this rifle for a long, time, but I finally got around to it tonight. It's a 1908 Brazilian Mauser action that I re-barreled in 6.5X55, put it in a sporter stock, and rust-blued it. There are more pictures in the Brazilian sporter set (link follows). http://www.flickr.com/photos/1454824...7630508855822/

my trap skills, on the other hand, are not advancing as fast as want them too and i dont understand what i'm doing wrong. on sunday i shot 20 and 21 in a row and tonight and could not even get past 16. those 20's on sunday must have been a fluke. i never went above 18 before that. i know what would improve my game... a NEW shotgun ![]()
