man, these long arm pics are reminding me that I really need to get one!

As for the post regarding people in the 1911 forum complaining about NHC, all I can say that people expect way too much for what they are paying. I've read about the same brass marks on the ejection port, or machining marks IN THE INSIDE OF THE GUN. Funny thing is, my Wilson, Brown and Baer all do or have the same thing. Stepping up from a production gun to a semi-custom gun gives you better, tighter fitment and a cleaner, lighter trigger pull. If you want your gun to be pristine, have one of the 1911 guru gunsmith build you one from scratch...but expect to pay over $5K for one.

It wasn't packed when I went there but it is better ventilated than Gat (W Dundee). They have a number of arms and rentals as well but no where near the amount of 'stuff' Gat has. Their 50rd boxes of 9mm Federal 115gr Range/Target ammo was a buck more than Gat as well. I didn't check pricing on anything else. The people there were cool, though. Again, compared to Gat, which is the only other range I've been to...hence the limited comparison, they don't have as many spots on the range (12 vs Gat's 24). They do, however, have a separate, 12 position rifle range at the same facility and they are less restrictive on caliber and ammo type. Gat restricts you to mostly .22, if I remember correctly, but On-Target allows .223, 5.56, and a few others (including shotgun slugs and shot.

Overall, On-Target is worth checking out. I'd def go back there again. Here is their website: www.ontargetsite.com

My DD M4V5 and SIG. Not quite one of each cause the SIG is a 556 SWAT. I couldn't resist it because it was a buy one get one free with the SIG 522.

Sorry for the bad cell phone pic.

Own quite a few guns, but unfortunately don't have pics of any of my newer toys. Past weekend I just picked up my first suppressor, a .22 AAC Prodigy. Gonna be so much fun to shoot

Anyways, here is one of my trusty guns, Sig 220 Compact

I love my HK45C. The only thing I'm not a fan of on the gun is the trigger. It definitely takes some getting used to. HKs are so solidly built though.

Wow! Some sweet rides up there!^^ pistols and rifles!

I picked up the NH today. Put 100 rounds through it as well. First 50 rounds through it at 7 yards were in a 3" group. The next 16 rounds I shot in about 15 seconds including mag change ended up in a 6" group. Hard not to be pleased with that I guess. Not the slightest inkling of a malfunction what so ever.

I'll get some decent pics soon.

Not a conversion. It's a full on scaled down 1911. I just want to get it for shits and giggles, but there is no way I am paying $570 for it... $250 maybe, but not more.

Hahah! I have never seen that particular model before . . . but I would definitely pick that up if it can be had at the right price.

I was at the range the other day and a gentleman there had a full-size 1911 chambered in .22LR. I can't remember what brand and model it was unfortunately, but that thing was incredibly fun to shoot (not to mention dead on balls accurate). Nothing better than doing a little .22LR plinking.

Gorgeous gun, I love all the nighthawks. I have a few in the collection and they are some of the best shooting weapons out there.

Yeah me and a few buds were there about a week ago, I mostly shoot at Maxon so the second I saw the indoor 50 yard range i bought a membership! Place is sick and a thousand times better then Maxon. Ive never shot at Gats range so i can't compare it but I have got a few firearms from them. Shame On Target won't let me shoot my .50 there Its cool tho, if you ever see a younger dude with a FN 17s there its probably me so swing over and say whats up some time! I'm there at least once every 2 weeks with a bunch of my buddies causing havoc

I'm no marksman, but I was very impressed with the performance of a pistol that small.

Regarding the XDM, I prefer its ergonomics, aesthetics (subjective and irrelevant criterion), and I think it is a nice touch that the XDM pistols come with a "match grade" barrel. I don't have "extensive" experience with either of the variants. I still can only tolerate a grip safety on a 1911.
Thanks! As a noob, I'll take my small victories. I just don't see the point in starting the target too far back at this point and 5-7yds seems like a somewhat realistic range.

Btw....given all your 'toys', if we're ever invaded....I'm heading to your place. lol

If you ever want to hit it up some time, let me know. Most of the people I know don't shoot (I'm a noob myself) and my one nearby friend only has a shotgun. I only have a few handguns. I've never been to Maxon so I can't compare. I have been meaning to check it out, but it's pretty far from me.

Gat isn't bad. They have 3 ranges; each with 8 positions. The target...mechanism (?) is basic compared to On-Target's. It just has your basic forward/reverse control and they use a short length of PVC pipe to attach a target to the line. It gets hot during the summer days, though. I don't know if there's no A/C or if they don't bother much with it. On-Target seems to be much better ventilated, though. Gat isn't bad, though. Range time costs the same at both. There is a rumor that Gat may expand their site again so who knows what that'll mean.

Hey guys I'm in the market for a 1911. Can you guys recommend me a solid, quality make and model that won't break my bank account? I love the nighthawk In the above posts but I checked out their site and 2k to 3k is a bit much. I figured maybe you guys can chip in for a recommendation.

Yeah i'm guessing Gat can't be worse then Maxon, Maxon is gross and not worth your time. What kinda things do you have to shoot?
