All five examples of the High Sport edition are alrady spoken for and we believe owners include the crown prince of Bahrain and McLaren executive chairman, Ron Dennis.

Each model has benefited from a bit of engine tuning that has boosted power by 75hp (56kW) and they also get an aerodynamic body kit upgrade with parts that were originally developed for the McLaren GT3

+1 I prefer the 458 design inside/out and it sounds way better. The Maclaren looks generic and not as bold as the F1. I still like it though.

The cosmetic tweaks are an improvement and take the car out of the realm of boredom. I don't like the GT3-esque rear design, but I wish the wraparound body colored parts had a 3D element to them instead of it being a painted on graphic.

The base MP4-12C should've looked something closer to this.

The MP4-12C is an amazing machine, to be sure...but aesthetically it seems to fall a little flat for me. I guess I hear "McLaren" and think "F1 LM", and the bar is just too high.

Call me crazy, but...

Very nice but damn that interior looks cramped like a Lotus.

Also, I really despise gull wing doors with a passion.

They're just so gaudy.

I'm glad Ferrari doesn't use them on anything.

That being said, I still love the Aventador minus that design element.

Ferrari has never built a road car with gullwing doors.

Also the McLaren doesn't have gullwing doors, it has type of butterfly door, without the top hinge, unlike the F1 or the Porsche 911 GT1 which have a top hinge.

I'm well aware what gullwing doors are, but in the interest of this argument, we'll just assume he meant 'butterfly' style doors.

And for the record...

This one definitely looks better than the 'normal' version and as already stated it's not a F1(LM) , more like a souped up Lotus...

And I as well still prefer the 458 (waiting for the Stradale to blast this Macca to Smithereens)

Have any of you heard the MP4-12C in person? They opened a dealership in my town and back in December. I was stopped at a light on an expressway and one flew by going the opposite direction, it's DAMN loud, very thunderous and guttural, I wasn't even sure what kind of car it was for a minute because it sounded so unique.

I've also heard numerous 458's, they sound crazy in their own respect, more of a wailing howl than an explosion of bass though. Different sounds for different people

Finally some others piping in about the relatively boring styling of this car. I followed one out of my office a few weeks ago and it sounds like a death machine but the looks just kill the car. It looks like a Hyundai supercar, not a McLaren...

I actually like how the car looks. It's distinctive enough to know what it is. A coworker sent me a pick of one he saw on the road, so it's definitely noticeable.

It is conservative, but then again not everyone wants razor blades on the sides of their cars, figuratively. And 911's haven't looked any different in 20 years. It doesn't seem to hurt them that much.

5 total builds?
Near the Maclaren store here in Dallas yesterday and a
black one was in front of me.
Didn't know what it was until right behind it at a light.
Pretty sweet.
