Pet Owners, please help!
My dog was just in the backyard and she had gotten sprayed by a skunk. At first she was a little wobbly as she walked, but I was able to quickly get her away from the skunk. I had already washed she twice, once with tomato sauce, but she still smells a bit. Also, my house smells just as bad. I'm hoping someone can guide me as to how to get rid of the smell on my poor little dog, and also out of my house.

Go to the pet store and they have a special soap for it. Use it about 5 times in a row and for the most part the smell pretty bearable. It won't be completely gone for a month or so also when you get the pooch wet again it smell like all hell again. As for your house...febreze

Thanks for your inputs guys. And the febreeze doesn't do a thing I've sprayed all around the house numerous times already. I've opened most of the windows last night and I can't tell if the smell is somewhat gone or if I'm just used to it

in order to add something minimally helpful, i second the advice to get the pet store products intended for skunk stank. I unfortunately had to use that on mine once. Go to town, scrub her with such hot water repetitively and keep rinsing. After about a week I finally let her sleep in bed with me and the dog again. Dumb bitch still takes forever to make a sammich tho... Last edited by ScaredOnce; 10-24-2011 at 04:23 PM.. Reason: adding something helpful.. |
