New Elantra N coming soon. Looks to be a nice and affordable fun car for enthusiasts. 2.0T I4, 276HP, 289 TQ, LSD and 6MT/8DCT, and developed by Albert Biernmann.

This and the sonata N/Kia GT with the DCT look promising, especially with a good sized boot and rear seat

The price point for the Elantra N will make or break... do you see it coming in cheaper than the Veloster N? At those prices the FWD 2 series is almost in competition.

I'd honestly take a Mazda 3 or Elantra N over a 2GC. My father had one as a loaner, very unimpressive car in both looks, handling, interior, etc. But then again, it has the right badge...

I test drove a Veloster N and the drive was incredible. The interior was hot garbage though. I certainly don’t need a luxury interior, but EVERYTHING was hard plastic, even where you put your elbow on the door rest.
Hopefully the Elantra gets some softer touch plastics. It doesn’t need much, but the Veloster was just a bit too cheap. |

Yeah, the Yaris GR would be sweet if it came to North America. It looks like we will get the larger Corolla GR instead with the same 1.6L I3 w/ AWD.
https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a3...onfirmed-2022/ Something RWD would be nice tho... the BRZ/GT86 with a 1.6L tuned within an inch of it's life might be a fun lightweight car if they could put it in longitudinally. |
