All I can say is..WOW. Watched it with the 3d version and it was amazing. Art and CG were extraordinary, the environment is by far the best I've seen, great plot, generous amounts of violence and war, knife fights, alien sex, what more could you ask for? Definately go watch it in 3d or IMAX because the normal version won't do you any justice.

Took one of my little ones to see it the other night and have to agree it was truly spectular. It was the 3D version and in no time at all I was sucked in to the whole experience the characters were going through.
Now that the technology has been perfected I reckon 3D is here to stay. |

Wow....awesome movie. Completely blown away. Funny thing is I was bashing the movie 2 days ago. 3D was amazing.
Damn, back to my normal life....I didn't want to leave Pandora. Go see it dudes, you won't be disappointed.

Southpark is awesome. Love those guys. Basketball was the worst movie ever though....
Sarcasm or are you for real? Seriously son, hit it up in 3D....you're missin' out if you don't I too thought the film looked gay, the whole look of the Na'vi (Blue people) just pissed me off.... Until I saw it. The trailers just don't do it justice. People are comparing it to when Star Wars came out in 1977. Great reviews all around the board, not a single person I've talked to hasn't liked it. It's worth checkin out, unless you just absolutely hate fantasy movies. Great Sci-Fi epic.

BluRay will do it no justice I feel
I watched it, then went to a restaurant that plays previews of movies currently playing (the resto is right next to the theater.. kind of a deal they have) and the preview made the movie look like utter trash.

The "hangover" when the movie was over lasted at least an hour... The 3d is used to draw you in and make you feel like you are apart of the world... not just to make you duck and look stupid because you think things are coming at your face.
Noc I am glad you gave it a chance. I saw it in IMAX 3D... People this is not a movie.. this is an experience. There is no explanation for it. If you see it, see it in Imax 3D. I will be going back with my girlfriend and best friend on tuesday night. It is that good people. The story could be better, but for what its worth, what it does to the viewer is simply indescribable. Last edited by NYCGarbagePrince; 12-21-2009 at 07:25 AM.. |

3D movies annoy me, can't seem to be in focus. So will this be any different? Whats the point of brilliant effects if the 3D glasses ruin it?
I really want to see it, but choosing between 3D or normal |

I thought the movie, in the trailer, looked like a typical fantasy special effects fluff piece. I feel "Lord of the Rings" falls in this catagory, too. But, I went to see it in 3D, and this movie was unbelievable. It surpasses Jurassic Park, Titanic, and Terminator 2. People clapped at the damn screen afterwords. I haven't felt that immersed and excited about a movie since...I don't know...maybe the first Matrix film.
One minor plot device I didn't like though was they never explained HOW they were connected to their avatars. It's not like those things had radio equipment built in- they were purely biological. I'll let that one slide though. The 3D was awesome and immersive. To really make 3D work though, videography will have to change a little. Using shallow depth of field is a big no-no; it's really only a way to add depth perception to our 2D movies. Putting it in a 3D film is like xzibit decided to put depth perception in our depth perception. If the 3D object that's in focus isn't where you're looking, the whole screen goes blurry. It's also irritating when something close is part-way in frame in the corner of the screen. Anyway, this movie will be an instant classic that people will continue to love for many decades. |

This may sound completely ludicrous, but, the reason I want to go back and see it again is not because I enjoyed the movie so much. But because watching the movie made me feel like I was literally there. Like Noc had said earlier, you walk out of the movie theater and you "miss" pandora. The 3D was that immersive and the images that vibrant.
