MHD good?

Greetings,

I'm usually on the E92 M3 forum, I have an 2012 E92 ZCP M3 I've had since 2013 and purchased a 2008 335Xi about a year and half ago as a back up car. The N54 engine has been supreme, truly a great engine and the 335 and M3 are both 6-speed manuals. I love driving the 335, the low end torque is amazing - and the opposite of what the S65 V8 does in the M3. That engine (S65) has to be revved and revved to get in power band. Not so with the N54, the twin turbos are awesome!

I have been looking at tunes, I did a Stage 1 on my E92 M3 with Mike at BMP. With the 335 I was thinking about the company called MHD. Just to do some simple changes. Does anyone here recommend or have used their tune before?

They have support for both iOS and Android and you can use a OBD adapter that has WiFi or Bluetooth while running the MHD app, so it seems pretty straightforward.

Thank you,
Merlin

Did you do any research whatsoever on this forum?

There are thousands of threads around MHD and how it is essentially the "go to" tuning platform and off the shelf tunes for E90 N54.

Try doing a bit of reading on this thread specifically:

MHD is practically perfect. They just updated F/G series cars to switch maps on the fly and stated an N54 update is coming soon so looking forward to that, unsure if it will include on the fly map switching though.

Like stated, there's lots of info on MHD here. Aside from flash tunes, some notable features that are nice include variable launch control (you set the RPM), limit power by gear, support for upgraded map sensors, ignition coils, and O2s, ability to change cooling target (I've noticed a 15° drop in my oil temps while daily driving just running the sport cooling option).

Garbage if you have e series n55.. Its different tuners doing the different models. The n54 seems to be good, they put some work into the tune and they seemed to be working on the f series n55. The e series n55 the tuner threw out garbage and collected a pay check.

But you should have the n54 and the tune has been refined on that car.

Don't mind him, he's been a bit grumpy since they took My Little Pony off basic cable.

But yeah, MHD is the go-to, awesome bang for the buck. Just stay away from the version 8 tunes.
