Supercar Driving Experience: Which Car?

My wife bought me a supercar driving experience for Christmas and I have to choose between 4 cars:

Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4
Porsche 911 GT3
Audi R8 V10
Nissan GT-R

Which would you choose and why?

Pretty boring list, but I'd do the 911 GT3.

The AUdi and Gallardo are the same car and a Nissan is still a Nissan, although probably nearly as fast as the GT3.

I would do the GT3 because I haven't driven one or ridden in one. I've been in a Audi R8 V10 and the power is brutal, but I want to experience the GT3 on a track.

I've driven all but the Nissan. Go with the GT-3 with the Gallardo and R8 V10 as your fall backs, in that order.

Good luck an please share your experience!!

I drove a 458 Italia & 911 GT3 back to back at a Supercar Driving Experience event. I had more "fun" driving the GT3 just because of the different dynamics associated with a rear-engine car.

At another event, I drove a GT-R as an "intro" to the Aventador...you wanna talk about brutal, have a go in one of those!

IMHO, Gallardo is the most fun on that list.

The Audi is the Gallardo with the fun meter turned down.
The Nissan is like driving a video game.
The GT3 is beautifully precise and fast.

I voted for the Nissan since my friend in WA had one, and I loved trashing it on gravel. That car is not rally at all, but I liked the owners attitude. He had a few other rides but after my major oh fuck moment on gravel in Peter, he wanted to know why I don't like a 4wd on gravel, and why i think an rwd saved my unworthy ass on a road somewhere in Canada.

I'm not exactly an Audi fan, and my hatred for Porsches runs deep. That's my disclaimer.

Lambo. You can drive a Porsche, Audi, or Nissan by walking in to just about any dealership. Probably not a GT3, R8, or GTR, but you can't walk into a Lamborghini dealership and drive anything without some sort of monetary commitment, or knowing someone. So the Lambo is my choice.

Any idea on the prices your wife paid? I just got back from Dubai and wanted to rent a supercar but it was about $1K for the day with a $4-5K hold for insurance. didn't pull the trigger. Wondering what the rates here are like.

I'm curious which Supercar Driving Experience outfit it is. I've done 2 events (I think)with Xtreme Xperience @ Gateway Motorsports Park and 1 event with Exotics Racing in Vegas.

Good point about the Lambo. She got a deal on groupon; I think normally it's close to $300 for 3 laps so it was probably about half of that. If you wanted to rent one for a whole day I imagine it'd be similar to the prices you saw in Dubai

I'm doing it with Xtreme Xperience at MSR Houston. How was your experience with them? Must have been fun if you've done it multiple times!

Solid group of guys, for sure. Each time I was in the car, the instructor provided good direction and feedback; except for the time when an instructor exclaimed, "What the...why'd you turn in so early?" LOL

Just be honest with them when they ask you about prior experience.

No doubt: GT3, not the fastest in a straight line*, but the only REAL WHEEL DRIVE car in this poll.

*on track probably beating any of its competitors in the poll.

Cheers

I have done a GTR and the Ferarri 458. I took two superlaps with a former Indy car driver in a LAMBO Super L.

The GTR was the most fun because you can push the hell out of it and maximize the laps and G Forces. The Ferearri sounded cool, but the tail broke loose "ALL" the time and scared the crap out of me. The only joy the Ferarri brought was bragging rights, the sound, and the top speed on the straights.

I am 5'11 and had to squeeze down in the seat hard to get my helmet in the Lambo. No head room AT ALL.

However, I did not see the GT3 on your list at first....so, that or the Nissan Period

Whats your diving experience level? If you don't have much (any) track experience, I'd probably go with the Nissan as you can probably get more out of it on track with all the nannies. If you've got some track experience and have never driven a 911 in anger, then I'd get the GT3.

Neither the audi or lambo interest me on track.

I would drive one that you might want to own one day. GTR being cheapest and probably fastest? I would pick that to motivate me

I'm 6'1" so the headroom is something I'm a little concerned about for the lambo...

I'd consider myself an intermediate track driver. I've done 3 track days and a handfull of autocross events. I'm leaning towards the GT3 because it's rear-wheel drive, and the rear-engine configuration is so unique
