Maybe i'm confused, but i wasn't aware of a way to use a nonsport airbag with a sport steering wheel...? Is there a thread on this at all?

I believe you're right. I don't think it's possible to use a non sport air bag with a sport steering wheel. I replaced my oem sport steering wheel with this m sport one. For some reason, my sport air bag didn't fit right with the air bag bracket that came with the m- sport steering wheel. So I swapped my oem bracket in and it worked fine. I'm suggesting this wheel for someone with a sport wheel already.
