E30 ///M-V10 almost ready!!
So today when I picked up my car I saw/heard a gut wrenching site. An E30 chassis stuffed with an '08 M5's V10!! It was on the dyno for its final tune! And it's street legal!!!! It weighs 2300 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Check out Piper Motorsport's website for details, but let me tell you, fucking siiiickkk!!! http://www.pipermotorsport.com/

I love it, but I wish they did it to a normal e30 and not butcher a genuine M3

Trust me, you wouldn't say that if you saw this beast in person. It's a work of art. They've been working on it for 2 years! The entire ECU and wiring harness are completely custom. For god sakes, the wiring connections are aircraft grade. You'll definitely be reading about this in the auto rags. BMWNA has already approached them, they want to showcase the car in their showrooms.

No pics!?!? Not even on the site... bummer. What a great thing to hear though. The biggest I've been considering in my drop is a V8, no way I would be dropping in a V10. No traction!!! Sounds amazing though.

The custom side panels allowing for a 305 wide tire will probably help with that

From the Site:
Welcome to the build of the 1988 Franken BMW M3. The car is a current project of Piper Motorsport, which started September of 2007. The idea behind this project is to improve all characteristics of the car using the best of the best from BMW's line up. How is that possible by adding a bulky V10? To make a long story short, we're using all new OEM E90 front/rear sub frames and suspension pieces. These items will be assembled on a chassis jig to fit within the stock body of an 88 M3. After many modifications to the front sub frame and fire wall we've placed a new OEM M5 aluminum V10 power plant. All new parts arrived from BMW including all E90 subframes, suspension, rear end, Moton shocks and Brembo Gran Turismo big brake kit with 15" rotors. Last but not least the new M5 V10 engine power plant with transmission/differential and components.

Here is the whole write up on this beast.10 plus pages of details and pics. Amazing dedication. Complete E90 suspension install into an e30 body. If you have a spare 30 minutes, worth the read.

Piper does incredible work. I've had 2 cages put together by them and the welds are beautiful. The funny thing is I've always associated them with cage building and never thought they would take on a custom project like this. Can't wait to see pics!

Yes, the interior is completely gutted and a full custom roll cage has been completely integrated into the frame. The back part of the cage actually disappears into an aluminum panel where the back seat used to be.
