You didn't get a 7 day pass first to try it out? Gold's gym out here is pretty strict about terminating contracts. I had to wait it out, since there was no way I was moving or being able to get a Dr's note. Also same thing happened to my nearest Gold's gym a couple months before my contract was over they started these new memberships where it is $9.95/mo and you can bring a friend with you everyday, and its a pretty small facility so you can imagine the chaos in there.
