I know many people who say or think they are obsessive-compulsive but only a few who actually have that disorder. The ones that do obsess over past situations (obsession over the order of things or cleanliness is comparatively uncommon).

We are a culture of self-diagnosers. That shit gets really old when you're sizing up patients and they want to tell you what illness they have or what medications they need because it's what they saw on a TV commercial or WebMD. 9/10 times they can't even pronounce the condition/drug properly.
