Oh I've missed that rant! I love that movie!
And to tipping: my friend had a birthday we went out. I as usual didnt shop for presents, so I picked up the bill for dinner.
20% for an extra large party. I had to be the mean bitch, and get the manager involved when the third bill came in my way and still nothing was right in it! I had had six drinks which most certainly did not receive or drink, since I was the DD. Anyway, third bill was close enough and the bloody samba music was such a torture I just gave in and handed them my credit card. The waitress ran after me, since I left no tip, and I told her politely, that if you charge 20% extra for a large party, and then we never get even water refills, I have to shave off 45% off the bill by complaining and finally going through the manager, no tip is deserved.
I am a good tipper, but if its a half ass job, I will forget ever seeing that line.
