He wants something along the lines of a used WRX, 350z, Civic, etc. But financing those cost more money and plus to maintain them will cost extra knowing they are out of warranty.
Now, what would you guys do? Can he make it look like a sleeper? Can you get over the girly vibe with car?

your first concern should be your incensitive title, what kind of father are you when you come to an internet forum and ask if car is too gay for your 16 year old son. Talking like the 17 year olds here doesn't make you sound cool, it makes you sound ignorant.
