That sucks. What do you mean your lawyer hasn't done jack yet? Did they explain their process for handling a ticket? Over here the lawyer files for an extension to set the court date up for later (I guess so the cop forgets the case by then or for the cop not to be free to show up) rather than handling it right away, but they do take some sort of action to begin the process.
