That's 'cause most of the personnel in the offices that calculate GPAs flunked math and don't know 3.4999 rounds to 3.5 for one significant digit, 3.50 for two, but 3 for no significant digits.
Hopefully none of these type did stress calculations (or any others mind you) on my car's design.
