Shures' are good, I use Etymotics, but there are a lot of good options. In ears tend to not be as comfortable, especially over many hours, and the cord can conduct noise if you're moving. I generally prefer in ear for work and noise suppressing for flights, etc. The Audio Technica ATH-ANC7B look promising for the cost, but I haven't actually tried them myself.
