The mega TV deals are bad for all sports, athletes make way too much money. Over the past 20yrs the top NBA salary has increased 10x. 20yrs ago 171 players made 1M+, today its 460. The greed of sports has turned me off on almost all of them over the past 10yrs. It's just a fricken game.
Colleges would be fine without the TV revenue, I doubt it barely covers all the costs of the programs. There are 361 D1 schools, maybe a few dozen have a profitable sports program, the rest is covered by non-sports revenue ie tuition.
