Go for the bold, I have the iPhone and it really isn't the best for typing messages/texts. If the phone is going to used for business applications then I would defininelty say go for the bold instead of the thunder just because of the typing issue.
Also, idk the specs for the thunder but the bold has a very powerful proccessor perfect for running business apps.
