What others have said if you don't have the passion for it after a few lessons then maybe it isn't for you. I don't fly for a living but definitely try to get up in the plane at least once a week if only for an hour.

I've been flying privately for quite a few years. It gets a bit pricey (to be nice) but if it is either truly a passion or a career path you'd like to pursue then I say go for it.
