Highwood Pass, K-Country

We headed out this afternoon for some snowshoeing with our pup and I decided to take our camera with us for a change. At this point, I only have an old Rebel T2i with the EFS 18-55 mm lens that came with it. If I can learn to take better pictures with our current camera, I would look at upgrading equipment.

All of the pics attached were taken on the autofocus setting (ie. I let the camera do everything). Any feedback on how to improve the picture quality would be greatly appreciated.

I have a never ending supply of landscape and wildlife to shoot in our neck of the woods and I'd like to start learning how to take pictures that does the scenery justice. Thank you!
