Too true about the chase.. thats really what makes the first time so exciting
but it's a very fine line. I've caught myself doing that - sometimes it backfires and next thing you know the girl I like is with another guy. Then when I talk to her she says "Oh! I thought you didn't like me? But I'm dating so-and-so now...." Greeeeeat.....
