Subscribing to this thread. I don't have a dedicated theater anymore (our old house we sold 3yrs ago had it in a separate building so noise wouldn't disturb my wife & kid...that was sweet)
But I do have a couple Middle Atlantic racks full of whole house distributed audio, video and home automation gear. I'm very attached to my calibrated panasonic plasmas and am in no rush to replace them.
If you guys have any questions about home automation or AV or need to buy some gear, I own an integration company in the SF Bay Area. I mostly focus on the automation programming side. We work on projects as small as a penthouse apartment up to large $100 million dollar homes where the AV budget for the theater alone can reach well over a million dollars. One of my favorite hobbies that just happened to turn into a career.
