I don't use LR, never could get used to the workflow so I keep it all in PS, but what I do can be done in LR.

Yeah, light is a huge deal, more important than location, and more important than composition in some cases. I only work with natural or available light though, once you learn how to really use the sun to your advantage it's the best light source there is.
