It's actually the most expensive of the Central American coutries.
You can buy a beer for $1, but you can buy a Coke for $1. It's weird.
BTW, if you get a chance go to Montezuma. It's a gringo-friendly, non-touristy place where you can camp on the beach if you like. It was my fav place there.
